The final product
The finished product ended up looking a bit different than my prototype, AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! I think it looks clean, elegant and very cute! I love that we were able to incorporate our monogram but not in a way that it is obnoxious and overpowering. So the finished product is a wrapped packet:
... and when opened up, we have the spice double sticked to the inside center, a cute message from us on the left and the ingredients and recipe idea on the right! So cute and soooo affordable! The finished product not only ended up being under $1, but I also have enough leftover spice to last us a year! Take a look at the inside!
Spicing Things Up!
So, when thinking about what to do for favors, I really wanted to do something unique and personal to Matt and I. I came across THIS Pinterest item and had an aha moment! We absolutely L-O-V-E a good home cooked BBQ. There is an AWESOME spice store in Riverside that offers gourmet spices. You can either buy them individually or blended. We decided to create our own custom blend and offer them to our guests as favors. This is going to be especially awesome because we are on a tight budget and I should be able to get all our spices done for about $50 total, or $1 each.
So today we stopped by and made our own creation. We're testing it on some chicken we will be BBQing tonight. It is a sweet mix with a hint off smokey and spice. Its a blend of maple syrup granules, applewood smoked salt, ground ginger and chipotle pepper spices.
So when I got home, I was excited to put a sample favor together. It will be simple, but I think it will be adorable. I have two different samples to pick from, one primarily in green and one primarily in charcoal grey. I think I will opt for the green. What are your thoughts?
