EDIT
Ok, so originally I wanted to do my hair myself (as you will see below). I got real with myself and decided to just cave in and get my hair did. So I did! I had a hair trial and I'm IN LOVE with the style I picked. I never would have chosen this style for myself if I dared to attempt it myself. So here it is, in all its glory!
The Hair Project
So lately, I've been losing sleep thinking about my hair. Do I have a professional do my hair or do I try and save $150 by doing it myself? In my dreams, I'm running late for my wedding because I did not do my hair. This is honestly my biggest fear. If I either run out of time or do not like the style, I'm worried I'll hate how my photos ultimately look. So I thought it might be a good idea to take a test run and try it out. Supplies? Curling iron, Hair spray, huge bobby pins, divides, combs, and oh yeah, more hairspray...
I divided up my hair and used the clips to keep the hair separated. I grabbed small 1" sections of hair. Comb it out, spray it with my light hairspray and curl it. Repeat 10,000000 times. . .
Here is my progress, approximately 1/3 of the way through. And it took me about 20 mins to get this far. . .
After I finished curling all around (except the top) I did the top section and teased it to give it some volume. Afterward, I lightly combed the front part back, pinned it with bobby pins. Last step? Spray the hell out of it with my heavy duty hairspray. So here is my first test results! (and a few shots of me in my dress because I couldn't resist! ;)
It's definitely not perfect, but not bad for a first try!
