DIY Save The Date
So, about two weeks ago, I spent the evening google searching "unique save the date" and the most creative thing I was able to find online was a CD save the date with the couples favorite songs. Although this seemed like a cute idea, is just didn't seem like "us". Right around the same time, Matt was getting ready to bottle his next batch of beer and the most amazing idea crossed my mind... Beer bottle save the dates! I created custom labels for Matt's first brew, so we would have to buy new bottles and labels, and even though this concept exceeded any budgetary idea I had for keeping our save the dates affordable, I couldn't compromise on this idea!
The label
So I came across a design I found online that I liked and made some minor modifications to make it more cohesive to our style and theme.
On the front the label reads:
Save the Date
Matthew & Elizabeth
We're getting hitched!
05.11.13
Formal Invitation to follow
On the side it reads this cute little poem I wrote:
We're tying the knot and thought we'd say
We'd love to have you there on our special day.
So pencil us in and save the date,
But for more information, you'll have to wait!
And on the other side it reads:
Cheers!
Enjoy Matty's "Super Summer Ale"
Age 2 weeks and enjoy!

Additional details
To save a few bucks I designed the label myself using Microsoft Publisher. I bought the labels online at a place I've used before (and will most likely buy again before this wedding planning is done). It's called Labels by the Sheet. For 6 sheets of 6 labels each (36 total) it cost me $8.17 shipped. Great deal!
Because I chose to use the larger bottles (22oz), I could do 1 bottle per couple and reduce how many labels I need. The bottles we bought at our local Just Brew It store.
Most of our bottles will be hand delivered. However, there will be a few that will need to be shipped. I pray those make it ok!
So here is the final result.
