So I actually decided to try and make one myself.
After a failed attempt at purchasing a cheap Crinoline on eBay and dying it at home, I all but gave up on the idea of having a fun colored crinoline under my wedding dress.
But somehow I just couldn't get away from the idea of having a fun colored crinoline under my dress, a small detail, of course, but one I wanted to have. So, this "no sew" bride decided to take on the challenge. I hit up the local Hobby Lobby and grabbed the following materials: 7 yards of tulle in green, apple green thread, bathing suit hooks and apple green bias tape.
I started out by sacrificing the lining of another skirt I have. I will use this as my underskirt and will be the frame of the skirt. I then used iron on glue tape and "sandwiched" my skirt in between. This will be the top of the crinoline.
I then hand stitched as best I could along the bottom of the "skirt". I made sure to include pleats along the bottom as well to provide some fullness. I then did a second band approximately 13" down from the top. The third and final band was just under the top hem. Overall, I'm very excited about how it came now. Now to test it out under my dress!
